HIIT Workout: What It Is And Why It Works

Here at Melbourne Yoga and Pilates, we believe in a holistic, well-rounded approach to individual health, fitness and wellness. With this in mind, we are proud to announce that we are now offering HIIT classes to all our clients, with the same level of professional, individualised care and technique focus that we deliver across all our classes. Our HIIT classes are guaranteed to help you get your sweat on and are a fantastic way to optimise your overall fitness and strength. The best part is – they are short and sweet, taking only 40 minutes out of your busy day!

What is HIIT all about?

HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training – is a training technique in which you give 100% effort for quick intensive bursts of exercise, followed by short active recovery periods. This method has been proven to invoke gains in fitness and strength faster than traditional cardio or weight training regimes, as it elevates your heart rate, helping to burn fat more efficiently and effectively.

How does HIIT work?

Our HIIT classes are innovatively programmed to give you the highest intensity working possible using dynamic movements. A standard HIIT training session may include intensive bursts of squats, lunges, planks and rotational movements, followed by short active recovery rest periods. Each session involves engaging training scaled to your individual ability and works to improve your weak areas and overall technique to help you get fit and strong.

How can I get involved?

HIIT is currently running at our Melbourne CBD studio on Wednesdays at 6.00pm and Fridays at 1.00pm.
